Come Celebrate 40 Years of Sangha with
The Village Zendo on May 31, 2026!
Since 1986, the Village Zendo has been welcoming folks of all kinds (and all quirks!) to join in supportive practice, accepting community, and the quest to live mindfully together, under the empathetic guidance of Enkyo and Joshin Roshis. To commemorate our 40th year of practicing together, on May 31, we will:
— Sit together in the morning as usual, starting at 9:30 am, followed by a Gate of Sweet Nectar service and a Dharma Talk from Abbot Shinryu Roshi.
— Mingle with light refreshments from 1:30 – 3 pm in the small park across from the zendo.
— Gather for food and festivities at 3 pm in the zendo.
We look forward to recognizing this milestone with all of you,
and to another 40 years of sangha together!
The morning portion of the program will be held both in-person and online, then the afternoon activities will take place in person only.
If attending in person, please consider sharing your dharma assets by bringing a potluck dish. Email Tokuyu Sensei to coordinate what you’d like to bring: jmanasia@gmail.com.
