In addition to our daily sitting schedule, workshops, and programs, we offer a number of retreats throughout the year to provide opportunities to deepen our practice. Financial assistance is available.
Year-End Retreat and Winter Ango
Our winter intensive practice period, known as Ango, begins December 26th and goes through March. It begins with our year-end sesshin (silent meditation retreat) at the Garrison Institute in Garrison, NY. Here is info for our 2019 Year End Sesshin. The ango continues with programs and retreats in New York City, culminating in Urban Sesshin in late March.
The Village Zendo’s monthly one-day retreat (zazenkai) is a great way to experience a short, intensive meditation retreat right here in the city.
Each year there is an Urban Sesshin in March to provide an opportunity to experience an intensive practice period in the city. A theme is selected and participants visit sites around the city to examine aspects of the theme.
Summer Retreat and Ango
Our summer intensive practice period, known as Ango, is typically scheduled in late July through early August. It begin with our summer retreat, held at Wisdom House in Connecticut. Stay tuned for dates in 2020.
