The Robert Kaku Gunn Financial Assistance Fund provides aid to Village Zendo practitioners who need financial assistance to attend Village Zendo retreats. It is wholly funded by private donations.
Requests for assistance from the Fund are reviewed by the Scholarship Committee whose current members are Roshis Sinclair Shinryu Thomson, Pat Enkyo O’Hara, Barbara Joshin O’Hara, and Randall Ryotan Eiger. Requests for assistance should be directed to Ryotan Roshi at scholarships@villagezendo.org.
Financial aid requests are evaluated based on the applicant’s relationship with the Village Zendo and the committee members’ knowledge of their life circumstances and practice. A recommendation from a member of the Village Zendo teaching staff will be helpful to the committee in evaluating the request.
If you are in fortunate financial circumstances, won’t you consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Fund?
In Memoriam: Robert Kaku Gunn
