In this talk, Jo An Sensei reflects on the many ways we become “stuck” and how mindfulness can help loosen that grip. Drawing on neuroscience, Zen teachings, and the embodied practice of sewing a rakusu, Jo An explores how attention can quiet the mind’s default mode and gently “suture” our disparate experiences together. As our mind comes together, we see a wider perspective where separation softens and we recognized that ordinary mind is the Way.
