Though I spend a great deal of time resisting discomfort, I let out a deep sigh of relief when I finally give in and simply allow it to be what it is. Then I have the energy to take care of it.

The Village Zendo, the Temple of Free Expression, is a member of the Zen Peacekeepers whose tenets are Not Knowing, Bearing Witness and Healing Action.

The People of Color Sitting Group aims to embody the three tenets by being a sanctuary for People of Color to study, support and discuss how in a system (society) of oppression and racial bias we can create a community where we recognize our interdependence.

Beginning Saturday, September 23, the POC group will have a monthly book discussion following our regular 10:30 am to 12 pm time slot. This month’s book will be The Diamond That Cuts Through Delusion, by Thich Nhat Hanh.

Future dates for these events will be listed on the Village Zendo calendar.

The meeting will take place online using zoom. For information about how to join, contact Mukei or email info@villagezendo.org.
