Join filmmaker Jean Yugetsu Carlomusto in conversation with writer and documentarian Adam Seido Harrison Levy after a special screening of excerpts from Yugetsu’s video archive.
Rituals and Ruins:
Zen Practice in Documentary Storytelling
In the process of collecting her 40 years of films and paperwork for acquisition by the Yale archives, Yugetsu culls the stories that have stayed with her– and popped up out of nowhere — just in time. In this artist’s-journey-through-her-collection before it is reorganized as an archive, Yugetsu will show two sequences from her documentary: Rituals and Ruins, which explore history, agency, and impermanence.
Dharma Salon offers an occasion for Zendo sangha members and friends to share art, film, music and other creative expressions and explore their connections to the dharma.
Each salon features a presentation and a conversation about the influence of our practice on the material, followed by a gathering with light snacks and beverages.
