Elena Yuuka Taurke and Howard Thoresen lead an ease-shop in discovering creative ways to meditate.
Pre-registration encouraged. Suggested donation: $10.
Through awareness of body and movement, we will guide participants toward a meditation practice that fits their individual bodies. To find the right balance of effort and ease, we will experiment with the boundaries of sitting: vary positions, vary time, vary instructions, and then talk about what worked, what was disruptive, and maybe even what was sublime.
Workshop time 2-4 pm. Please arrive by 1:45 so that we can start promptly at 2pm.
“Zen and Your Body” is one event in a four-part series this October about What Gets In The Way Of Meditating?
Elena Yuuka Taurke is an improviser, a clinical psychologist, a Zen student, and a person who has been adapting to disability since the age of one.
Howard Thoresen, the Executive Director of the Village Zendo, is an actor and director, and a certified Feldenkrais Practitioner.
