Sweetcake Enso – Art Exhibit

SWEETCAKE ENSO Art Exhibition

Saturday January 15, 11am to 7pm,

followed by a panel discussion from 7pm to 9pm

Sweetcake Enso is a traveling art exhibit started by the Empty Hand Zen Center in New Rochelle NY. Artists from many different Sanghas have been invited to join the show, which will travel and go on display at Zen centers and Buddhist communities all over the country. The Village Zendo will host the show’s third stop, and include a lively panel discussion. The ENSO is the iconic Zen circle that appears often as the visual symbol of Zen art and expression. This show is challenging practitioners and artists to define and rework the ENSO as their own true expression, and to ask viewers to see this venerable image in a completely new and contemporary light.
