Rohatsu 2017 All Night Sit

On Rohatsu we commemorate the Buddha’s enlightenment by doing as he did — sitting zazen all night. This year we’ve changed the format of our Rohatsu celebration to allow for more sitting. We’ll sit 12 periods and most periods will be 40-minutes long. There will be no dharma talk or private interview. As usual, there will be short breaks for rest, and a light meal will be served at the halfway point. Please join us for all or any part of Rohatsu. Help us celebrate this most important date on the Buddhist calendar.

Starts 8:30pm Thursday evening December 7th and ends the next morning at 7am on Friday December 8th. Please arrive promptly at 8pm so there is time to settle in.

Please note:
• You may leave at anytime, but there is no entry or re-entry to the building after 10pm.
• If you have not sat in long meditation retreats before, please consider our monthly Zazenkai to start out, rather than Rohatsu. In any case, all are welcome.

$25 for members, $50 for non-members.
