The Village Zendo presents a year long study series with Roshi Enkyo O’Hara, Sensei Joshin O’Hara and members of the Village Zendo Sangha.
Let’s awaken together from the suffering of division—within ourselves, our culture, and our world. As we witness the consequences of hatred between groups, we are called to challenge our own categorizations—how we create an ‘other.’
Roshi and Joshin Sensei, in collaboration with Village Zendo Sangha interest groups, will guide a year-long collective inquiry into the constructs of race, ability, and gender.
We will work with the Peacemaker Order’s Three Tenets: Not Knowing, Bearing Witness and Healing, to help us open our hearts, hear each other’s stories, mend our minds, and identify healing actions.
Our process will include discussion and group exercises, and will be enriched by the study text: The Way of Tenderness by Zenju Earthlyn Manuel, Sensei.
