Writing as Practice in Not-Knowing
with Joshin O’Hara Sensei
‘Listen to your thoughts, write them down, ask the question ‘What do I mean by that?’ Join us this month for writing as a practice of radical acceptance, birthing compassion. By unpacking, with attention, what we think we know, we discover what it is to not know. And therein find the wellspring of our own aliveness, creativity and freedom.

Barbara Joshin O’Hara Sensei, MA, LSCW, is a co-founder of the Village Zendo, a language lecturer at NYU and a psychotherapist in private practice. She is interested in understanding the systematic self-rejection that makes us inattentive to our own experience, causing us to live, in the words of her fellow-countryman, James Joyce, at a distance from our own bodies.
