In this talk, senior student Musho looks into story 29, “The Ox Doesn’t Know” from our study text The Sayings of Layman P’ang. The Layman points to an ox plowing a field and says, “He’s having the time of his life but he doesn’t know anything about it.” Musho responds that the time of our life is now, and that knowing and not-knowing are complementary ideals that we must practice together.
