Jiryu on a street retreat

In his Dharma talk senior student Jiryu reminds us that Buddha urged us to do good for everyone, without partiality toward ourselves or our families. Western philosophers say the same thing. But few people act this way! It’s hard to make sacrifices for strangers. He urges us to train ourselves to act with universal goodwill, by stretching outward a little bit at a time. Recorded Thursday February 4th 2021.
