(editors note: This talk by senior student Seizan opened with a few minutes of silent knitting. For the published recording here that time was edited into less that a minute.)
In this talk Seizan compares knitting to a whole way of living within the Dharma. He starts out with his discovery of knitting at age 9, and then his continued interest as an art student and then mature artist. He mentions the three archetypal Greek fates, spinning, measuring and cutting, and sees those as a metaphor for Dharma practice and life itself. Seizan understands the Dharma as cause and effect, a process of patience and appreciation. Recorded Thursday April 5th, 2018.
