Retreat Schedule

In addition to our daily sitting schedule, workshops, and other programs there are retreats throughout the year available to provide opportunities to deepen our practice.

Zazenkai

The Village Zendo’s monthly one-day retreat (zazenkai) is a great way to experience a short, intensive meditation retreat right here in the city.

People are welcome to come for the entire day or any portion of it, but need to inform the registrar in advance. Although this is a “one day” retreat it typically ends Sunday morning.

Instruction is available for those who are unfamiliar with Zen rituals and procedures. Please make sure to contact the registrar in advance if you need instruction.

Typical schedule: Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m ; Sunday 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You may participate in all or any part. more info…

Urban Sesshin

Each year there is an Urban Sesshin to provide an opportunity to experience an intensive practice period in the city. Each year a theme is selected and participants visit sites around the city to examine aspects of the theme.
