Zen Poets and the Three Truths, Part II

September 28, 2013
10:00 amto1:00 pm

With Hoshi Deirdre Eisho Peterson

In this workshop we will be reading the works of two of Japan’s most beloved Zen Poets: Basho and Issa. We’ll be looking primarily at their prose-and-haiku writings, such as Basho’s “Narrow Road to the Interior” and Issa’s “The Spring of My Life.” We will examine how these poets expressed the Three Truths of impermanence, suffering, and interconnection. We will read poems aloud together as well as write some of our own.

Fee:  $30 members, $35 non-members.
