David Loy: A New Buddhist Story – Talk and Q&A

Feb. 24, 2013 - Posted in: Events - Comments Off

April 21, 2013
9:30 amto12:30 pm

Behind our ecological and economic crises there is a more basic problem: a defective story about who we are, what the world is and our role in it. We can’t simply replace this defective worldview with a traditional Buddhist one, but today a new story is beginning to emerge from their interaction ~ David Loy

David Loy is a professor, writer and Zen teacher in the Sanbo Kyodan tradition of Japanese Zen Buddhism. His numerous books include Money,Sex, War and Karma,The Great Awakening and The World is Made of Stories.

We are honored to have this noted scholar, writer and Zen teacher join us for this special Sunday program. After a period of zazen, we’ll have the talk and discussion. Refreshments will be served.

There will be two periods of zazen, and the talk with Q&A will last until 12:30 pm.

The talk will begin at 11am (please arrive by 10:50 am)
